Spotted these two in a backyard right across from the Falls Dam Canoe Launch munching on someone’s nicely manicured lawn. Cute little guy still has his spots.
Early in the morning on the Neuse River is a great time to watch the birds come and go. They the river as a sort of highway to travel up and down stream. Nestle down in the trees, be quiet and still, and watch the show.

While kayaking down the Neuse River in Raleigh, I came across this random hibiscus bush bursting with huge white flowers. It was a pleasant, but unexpected surprise. Go slow and keep your eyes open and you’ll find amazing things.
