On days when I’m on the Neuse River and it is tough to find something epic to photograph (which is actually pretty rare), I think back to something my high school photography teacher once said. She said to, “Look smaller.” So, for example, rather than looking at the whole river, maybe you look at how the river wraps around a rock and the pattern and design it creates. There you go, free life lesson from Paddle Creek. No charge. When lacking creativity, look smaller. Or rent a kayak from us and go paddling. That seems to help too.
